About
In 1959, the Monical family started making pizzas in the little town of Tolono, Illinois. Before long, their recipe became a hit with many of their local friends and neighbors. Thus was born Monical’s Pizza®, a name that has become synonymous with the very finest thin crust pizza.
Today, there are 66 Monical’s Pizza® restaurants, primarily located throughout Central Illinois with several in Indiana and one in Wisconsin. Monical’s great pizza has evolved into a dining tradition for countless families and into a financially-solid, steadily-growing foodservice institution. In an intensely competitive business environment, Monical’s Pizza® has managed not only to keep up, but outpace many of its larger competitors. There are two reasons for this record of performance: People and Vision.
The Monical’s mission is simply stated as
The Family Pleaser®…People Pleasing People®
The Monical’s vision is
“In a world that pulls people apart…we bring people together”
“People Philosophy” Drives Business
We believe in developing people to their fullest extent. The driving force behind our business is our people philosophy which encompasses our team members, franchisees, guests, communities, vendors and shareholders. This statement of purpose is found throughout our restaurants and inspires our employees to deliver nothing but the best. We strive to provide memorable dining experiences for everyone who enters our restaurants. People return because of our consistent quality products, detailed service and our warm, friendly atmosphere.
Walking the Walk
Monical’s Pizza internalizes the importance of people and emulates its “People Pleasing People” philosophy. This approach has resulted in a great organizational culture that is recognized by industry sponsors as past recipients of Employer of Choice, People and Performance and
Winning Workforce award winners and, in 2010, a management turnover rate of less than 25%.
Why not make it so you could order Monical’s here in Florida or whereever thru your online store and ship it out.
Susan,
Thank you so much for the comment on us shipping our pizzas. We are working on the FDA license requirements for this type of distribution of our pizzas. It is our sincere hope to be able to provide our far and away guests the Monical’s Pizza that you have grown to love! In the meantime, we do hope that you will be able to enjoy the pizza while you are in our areas!
Sincerely,
Monical Pizza Corporation
Are there any updates to shipping pizzas across the country?
Thank you so much for asking!!! The truth is that we have hit a bump in the road regarding the ability to get the crusts “just right”. Have no doubt that we are still moving this along.
Stay tuned…..
The closest Monicals to me is in Rantoul, Il and I live about 8 miles from there in a small town. It takes less than 10 minutes on a very good road to drive there. My questions is why can’t we have delivery in our town. Currently both Dominoes and Papa Johns deliver in our town. Delivery by Monicals would be great since this is my favorite pizza. Please let me know why we can’t have delivery. Please consider this request.
Thanks
Dee
Dee,
We are unsure of the specific delivery areas for our locations, however we are forwarding your comments to our operations team for review.
Thanks for sharing!
Sincerely,
Monical Pizza Corporation
We have always enjoyed Monical’s pizza and have gone to the store a lot since it opened. We also order for delivery quite often. However, the last few times have been extremely disappointing. We ordered tonight and were told delivery would be in approximately 45 minutes. It has now been over 2 hours and we not only didn’t get our food, we heard nothing from the store. Unfortunately, this happened once before in the last couple of months. I called the store and they made our food and offered us a small discount. The last 2 times we ordered, the food was not edible. I called the store and was told it went out for delivery as soon as it was done and should have been ok. We threw it away. There was never an apology or offer to replace the food. We decided tonight to give them one more chance. As of tonight, we are no longer Monical’s customers.
Robin,
Thank you for letting us know that you have had an issue.
We would like to provide complete information to the restaurants operations lead so that we can address the service issues. In order to do this we request that you complete a brief feedback report. This will include specific restaurant, date and time information to help in these efforts. In order to access the report, we ask that you visit our location listings page at http://www.monicalspizza.com/listing.aspx, select your location and then click on the “feedback” button at the bottom of the page and provide your details.
We look forward to the opportunity to actively address the problem and thank you for allowing us to do so.
I just received an e-mail from Monicals that shows the June 2012 special is two (14 inch) pizzas with one topping for $20 (carry-out or delivery). No coupon is required. Can this special be used at any Monicals Pizza in any state? I am from Illinois and would like to use the special deal in Indiana on June 7.
Ruth,
Thank you for asking about the Manager’s Special email you received. Locations in Indiana are franchise operations and may not be participating. We encourage you to contact the specific location. Here is a link to our individual location pages, http://www.monicalspizza.com/listing.aspx Once you are on the page of the restaurant you are visiting, you can use the “Feedback” form to inquire directly.
As an aside, after reading how “not user friendly” this process is we will work with our website to try and develop an easier way of gathering the information/or communicating with the location.
Thanks!
